FORDYCE SPOTS (not milia) —

These are small, harmless, subtly raised bumps that can appear on the skin. They are sebaceous glands without hair follicles, so they’re not associated with hair growth. These spots are typically found on the under eyes, lips, or genitals, and they’re considered a variation of normal skin anatomy. Fordyce spots are typically harmless and don’t require treatment. However, if you’re concerned about their appearance there are treatments like laser therapy, microneedling and topical retinoids that can help. When it comes to skincare for Fordyce spots, gentle cleansing and moisturizing are key. Avoid picking or squeezing them, as this can lead to irritation or infection. Using non-comedogenic products can help prevent clogged pores.
