SKIN SERIES — POIKILODERMA.

poikiloderma is a skin condition causing mottled plaques of red-brown discoloration, visible blood vessels, and skin thinning, most often on sun-exposed areas like the neck, shoulders and chest. the most common iterations is linked to chronic sun exposure, aging, and hormonal factors.

How do you know if it’s poiklioderma? because it does not blanch (turn white) when pressed. This is due to permanent blood vessel changes and increased skin pigment, not temporary flushing or inflammation.
