The Struggle is Real

Adult Acne - SCREW YOU!!!🤬 Although it would be ideal to leave acne behind in your teenage years, pimples still persist in adulthood, causing some major stress & can kill your confidence 👎🏼 For women in particular, adult acne can be more common. A mix of stress, genetics, dietary factors and changing hormones are all major contributors. There isn’t a cure, but there are important steps you can take to address the issue.

1️⃣ consult a naturopath or traditional chinese medicine doctor regarding your hormones as an internal imbalance can be a key factor to adult acne.

2️⃣ visit a skin clinic for a treatment and product plan tailored to your individual skin type. a lot of the time we assume that acneic skin needs harsh, chemical heavy cleansers/ products and that couldn’t be more far from the truth.

3️⃣ hydrate everyday (2-3 litres) & supplement with skin in mind: collagen, omega’s..

4️⃣ be consistent. this is probably the most important thing you can do - adult acne requires an individual to be dedicated & consistent with their skin health - front regular treatments to cleansing, stick with the program.

5️⃣ be sure to wash your makeup brushes and pillowcases every 4-5 days. i know it sounds like a lot but... it’s  necessary.

6️⃣ last but certainly not least, wash your face every am & pm and never go to bed with makeup on, ever
